Saturday

(contd. from Friday)

what is ‘from’ in ‘from WALKING’? It is ‘from area (site)’. Consult a map.

(cannot depart from area (site) because of job and overfamiliarity, overseeing (over-seeing and overseeing? emotional overoverwriting overquotation overloadeding))

WRITING...

cannot depart from life (site) because of lack of autonomy, lack of individuality, social requirement

what is ‘from’ in ‘from WRITING’? It is ‘from life (site)’. Consult a writing system.

writing system determines a parallel site of departure to life – writing system determines A – it is not parallel it is partial – the remove is not geographical it is metaphysical. The remove is impossible in a sense.

Imagine if Kenneth Goldsmith’s text ‘soliloquy’ was a track not just of what he says in a day but of every formulated and semi-formulated writing that occurs in his day, in order, be it thought, heard, texted. This record, untreated would exist around an absence (‘soliloquy’ simplifies this absence as the absent collaborator(s) in Goldsmith's interactions)

A... as a parallel point of departure generates writing that moves forward as ‘freely’ - as present - as the body moves ‘FROM A’

The body sets out ‘FROM A’

The geographical (cartographical) square ‘A’ coincides with this initial point of thinking/writing that may surface as text – this is also ‘A’. The writing sets out ‘FROM A’

Most of the writing is lost as thought, some of it surfaces as text. All geo-carto-graphical instances of A are the same in writing. FROM A is always the same point – a point of beginning, a zero point, an alpha point.

If the writing were a conversation it would not be WITH it would be FROM
It would not be from YOU or from MYSELF it would be from WALKING

a conversation FROM walking
FROM walking: writing
writing FROM walking
